Dmitry Uvarov: Biography

Dmitri Ouvaroff (born 1985), saxophone player. Lives in Paris (France). Dmitri began learning to play the saxophone professionally in 2002, while attending the class of professor Alexey Tikhonov at the Mussorgsky Music College in Saint-Petersburg. Graduating cum laude with honors from the College, he then entered the department of wind instruments at the Orchestra faculty at the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory. There, studied the saxophone with the same professor. He graduated from the Conservatory in 2011.

In 2010 he passed the entrance examination for the Aix-en-Provence Conservatory (France), and studied there under professor Jean-Pierre Caens. In 2018 he has his Master of music: Interpretation at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), where he studied under Vincent David.

He has rich experience in collaborating working, with different orchestras. Since 2006 he has been a member of the orchestra of the Saint-Petersburg State Academic Capella. He is also a guest performer of the Mariinsky theatre and the Saint-Petersburg Academic Philharmonic (n.a. D.D. Shostakovich) orchestras. He performs regularly in different parts of the world. Recently he took part in international festivals in Wittenberg (Germany), in Aix-en-Provence (France), in Italy «Young talents of Saint-Petersburg» and in Shanghai «Days of Saint-Petersburg in China». Dmitri Ouvaroff’s repertory includes musical pieces belonging of many different cultures: from the works of European composers of the baroque era to 21st century Japanese music. Since 2020 hi is an artist of the symphonic orchestra of Palermo Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Sicilia, Italy.

In 2019 he was a performer of DAU project in Paris (Théâtre de la Ville & Théâtre du Châtelet) collaborating with artists such as Vladimir Tarasov and Mikhail Mordvinov.

He is founder and director of Russian art school in Paris.
